The good news is the market in the Fraser Valley processed 1131 sales through the Multiple Listing Service which is a 32% increase from September last year.
To temper this somewhat, we are still slightly below our 10 year September average. It takes time, however, and we seem to be recovering from last year’s mortgage tightening. Financing became tougher for rental properties, self-employed applicants, and for refinancing your home as well as the need for larger down payments.
Prices are relatively flat; increases usually come from demand that low inventory creates, overall inventory is balanced.
Remember, Real Estate is still localized. There is 12 months of condo inventory in Surrey/White Rock while Langley only has 3 1/2 months of townhome inventory. Our Mission/Abbotsford charts will break the market down locally.
